CONGRATULATIONS TO GLORIA AND JERRY BAUMAN

Gloria and Jerry Bauman are happy to announce the arrival of Madelyn and Spencer's brother Parker Maxwell. He weighed in at 7lbs. 11oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long. The parents of our 3 wonderful grand children are Brian and Shari Bauman. All are doing fine

(Emailer's Note: I hope that Jerry still remembers how to change diapers. I've told Parker Maxwell to point to his Grandpa when he needs a diaper change).

PLEASE VOTE ON FEBRUARY 16TH FOR JERRY KAPLAN (REGENCY RESIDENT) - VOTING WILL BE AT OUR CLUBHOUSE

At the last Men's club meeting a resolution was passed by the members to support Gerald Kaplan for Fire commissioner of Monroe. Jerry has had a long history in other fire departments prior to moving to Regency. He brings a great deal of experience to this position.

We urge all members to vote and to vote ONLY for Jerry on Saturday February 16th at the clubhouse starting at 2PM till 9. He has earned and deserves our support.

Since voting will take place throughout Monroe and at other communities, we need to show strong at Regency for Jerry Kaplan. Please go out and vote.

OUR SINCERE CONDOLENCES ARE EXTENDED TO ARNIE GLEANA AND HIS FAMILY

I would like to extend Regency's sincere condolences to Arnie Gleana and his family on the passing of Arnie's father. Shiva will be at the Gleana home on Friday, Saturday and Sunday

A THANK YOU MESSAGE FROM LEE GAYNOR

February 16 Fire District 3 Election Public Questions

(REMEMBER, YOU MUST COME OUT AND VOTE NOT ONLY TO APPROVE THESE PUBLIC QUESTIONS BUT TO ELECT JERRY KAPLAN ( A REGENCY RESIDENT AS A FIRE COMMISSIONER - VOTING PLACE - CLUBHOUSE)

The ballot on the February 16 Fire District 3 Election contains 2 Public Questions.

The first Public Question will be the approval of Fire District 3’s 2008 budget. Fire District 3’s 2008 budget has been carefully assembled by Fire District 3’s Board of Fire Commissioners and contains only those funds necessary to provide for the same excellent level of fire and emergency protection in 2008 heretofore experienced by Fire District 3’s residents and preparations to continue that level of fire and emergency protection in future years.

This first Public Question reads as follows: “Should the budget for calendar year 2008 in the amount of $ 4,787,882, of which $3,822,658 is to be raised by taxation be approved?”

The second Public Question will be the approval of the year 2009 procurement of a new fire engine to replace Fire District 3’s oldest fire engine which was initially procured in 1986. By early 2010 when the new fire engine is delivered this 1986 fire engine will be 24 years old and will have reached the end of its viable lifetime. This acquisition of a new fire engine is critical to the continuance of Fire District 3’s excellent level of fire and emergency protection provided to Fire District 3’s residents.

This second Public Question reads as follows: “Shall Monroe Fire District # 3 be permitted in Fiscal Year 2009 to purchase a new fire engine to replace its 1986 fire engine for an amount not to exceed $600,000, $250,000 of which shall come from its current Capital Acquisition Reserve Account, to meet the needs of the residents of Monroe Township Fire District 3?”

As stated in the Public Question the fire engine procurement will occur in 2009 and $250,000 already present in the Fire District’s Capital Acquisition Reserve Account will be used as the initial payment for the new fire engine. Careful financial management by the Board of Fire Commissioners has maintained the Capitol Acquisition and Facilities Improvement Reserve Accounts necessary for the Fire District to continue the excellent level of fire and emergency protection experienced by Fire District 3’s residents.

Fire District 3’s Board of Fire Commissioners recommends approval of both Public Questions.

MEETING REGARDING THE VOLUNTEERS FOR THE BONE MARROW DRIVE

There will be a Bone Marrow Drive on February 13, 2008 at Marlboro Jewish Center, Chai Building, and on February 10 at Solomon Shechter and Rodeph Torah in Marlboro. Also on February 12, 2008 there will be another Drive at Solomon Schecter.
YOU MAY BE

MARC WEINSTEIN’S MIRACLE MATCH

Marc is a 9 year-old boy living in Marlboro who desperately needs a Bone Marrow Transfer.
Today there is no ideal match. His best chance at a match is someone of common ancestry.

Marlboro Jewish Center is sponsoring a Bone Marrow Registration Drive
WEDNESDAY, FEB. 13TH from 9am-10pm At the Chai Building

You can be part of this incredible mitzvah. If you are between 18-60 years old and in good general health you can register! It only takes a simple swab of cells from inside the cheek. You don’t need to be retested if you’ve been tested before.

Other ways to help: We need volunteers on the day. We need people to make phone calls. We need people to distribute flyers and posters.

Send an email to Lisa Greenberg: eliotlisa@aol.com

PLEASE URGE EVERYONE YOU KNOW OF EASTERN EUROPEAN DESCENT TO COME DOWN TO BE TESTED. INVITE YOUR FAMILY TO PARTICIPATE FOR MARC. PASS THIS MESSAGE ALONG TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW.

Can’t make our date? Other drives for Marc: Solomon Schechter, 22 School Road East, Marlboro

Sunday Feb 10th 9AM-Noon and 5-8pm or Tuesday, Feb 12th - 7:30am-5pm
Temple Rodeph Torah, 15 Mohawk Drive, Marlboro

Sunday Feb 10th -10:15AM to 1:15PM

DO YOU HAVE A COLLEGE STUDENT? They can help save Marc’s life. Ask them to go the college Hillel (or Jewish fraternity) and encourage them to run a Bone Marrow Drive ASAP. After only one semester of intensive college testing 12 matches were found. They can find more information at www.giftoflife.org or by calling 800 9MARROW. There is no cost for college campus testing.
