MANY THANKS TO HOWARD WICHANSKY FOR TAKING PICTURES

I have "officially" promoted Howard Wichansky from Asst. Picture Taker to Head Picture Taker. This guy, Ron Post, whoever he is, did it for a few years and stopped. 1. Halloween Party - Oct 26
2. Square Dance - Nov 10
3. Yankee Stadium Tour - Nov 14
4. Mercer County Symphony Concert - Dec 7

CONGRATULATIONS TO SUSAN & PHIL SLOAN

Phil and Susan Sloan became first time grandparents when their daughter Lisa, and husband Jason Walker had a 7 week premature baby girl Audrey Sloan Walker at 4 pounds 14 oz on Dec 20. Grandparents were on a cruise with some Regency friends and had to hightail it home from St Thomas so they wouldn't miss her first day. They should have stayed home after the first 6 months.

(The word I got was that Susan and Phil couldn't get a flight home so they decided to swim from St. Thomas to Cape May and then they did some hitchhiking to be with their new (and first) grandchild on her first day).

CONGRATULATIONS TO LINDA AND JEFF ROSS

Jeff & Linda Ross became the proud grandparents today, Dec. 21, 2007 of Ryan Michael Ross. Parents Neil & Larisa Ross and sister Sydney are all doing great.

(okay, Audrey Sloan, please meet Ryan Michael. If this works out I want to be invited to the wedding)

CONGRATULATIONS TO CANDY AND STEVE SCHWEITZER

Candy and Steve Schweitzer are so happy to announce the birth of their first grandchild,
Anna Pearl Kayton, born on December 21, at 3:17AM. Anna weighs 6lbs 10 oz and is 20 1/2
inches long. Anna and her Mom and Dad, Tracy and Mark are all doing great.

Candy Schweitzer

(SOMETHING IS GOING ON - 3 BIRTHS IN ONE EMAIL - THAT'S A RECORD!)

ANYONE HAVING THE NAME AND NUMBER OF A HOME CLEANING PERSON?

One of our residents needs the name of a person who can clean her home. If you have such a person please let me know.

FEBRUARY 17 2009 - MARK THIS DATE DOWN

What's happening on this date? Well, a resident sent me an article that appeared in the AARP newsletter indicating that Congress approved the removal of analog TV's and that our nation will receive only DIGITAL broadcasts. So if you have a rabbit ear TV, the rabbits wouldn't even be able to watch it. I guess it is time to throw away my Sylvania with HALO glow (the light around the tube). That was my first TV and of course it was in Black and White. Frankly, if we bring back THE SHADOW on radio, I'll throw away all of my TV's. ( "WHO KNOWS WHAT EVIL LURKS IN THE HEARTS OF MAN? THE SHADOW KNOWS" and maybe the Emailer also knows).

OUR WISHES FOR A SPEEDY RECOVERY ARE EXTENDED TO TOBY WEISSMAN

Our very best wishes are extended to Toby Weissman for a speedy recovery. Once Toby's knee is feeling better I plan on having a new entry into the Senior Olympics. It will be called the Titanium Sprint. Those residents with new knees, hips, joints, or any other part of the body that has Titanium are eligible to enter these Olympics. However, under NO circumstances may someone with 2 Titanium parts enter. Just like steroid testing, you will undergo a Flourescope prior to running. If we have enough residents with 2 Titanium parts, maybe in a few years we will run a Double Titanium Sprint.

If you wish to speak to Toby who is at the Elms recuperating, her number is 609-395-6685.

All those people wishing to voice their opposition are urged to attend. If you wish to be assured of getting a seat , try to arrive a half hour early.

Thank You,

IT'S TIME TO CHANGE THE BATTERIES IN YOUR SMOKE DETECTORS

At the beginning of the year it is usually a good time to change the batteries in your smoke detectors. At least once a year they should be changed but a resident had written me that by using Lithium batteries your it might extend the life of the battery. However, why take chances and we all know that a battery can last for at least one year, so just replace it with the usual battery.
