EMAILING

Periodically I must say thank you to all those residents who have either written me or have told me about the job I am doing with emailing. It has become a "labor of love". Naturally, hearing or reading your emails just keeps me going and I thank all of you.

Naturally I receive from many residents, clubs, HOA information about the various happenings here at Regency. I take this information and put it into an email and at least once a week, it is sent out. There are limitations to the number of emails I could send out in one month. I use an internet emailing provider called ICONTACT formerly known as INTELLICONTACT. The contract I sign is for one year and it allows X number of emails per month. Again, I must thank the MEN'S CLUB, THE WOMEN'S GROUP, THE ITALIAN AMERICAN CLUB and the CULTURE CLUB for supporting this endeavor.

Sometimes someone might send me a message that needs to go out "immediately" . In order for me not to go over the quota of emails sent out per month, I had to define what "immediately" means. If I send out one message each time, I would exceed my quota by thousands since I now have over 465 email addresses (and growing) in my general listings + 82 email addresses in my Regency Men's Golf at the Meadows listings. So "immediate" to me means some HOA information/meeting that needs to be sent out to residents in order for it to be acted upon within a day or two. Unfortunately my other "immediate" message relates to the passing of a Regency resident and all the related information.

If you want some information sent out to the community, just send me the information by email (rpost@monmouth.com). I do a copy and paste and this is not a problem. If it is a flyer you can send it to me as a PDF or JPEG file. If it is a document, Microsoft Word or Word Perfect, or if it is a spreadsheet, EXCEL, or .XLS files are fine. Please avoid sending me information that I would have to type onto an email since 6 years of emailing has given me numb fingertips.

Again, many thanks to the Regency community for your kind words.

RACE FOR THE CURE

Dear Friends and Family,

I just started a team for the New Jersey Race for the Cure scheduled
for Sunday, October 14, 2007 at Six Flags Great Adventure. I
hope you will join me at the Race in support of Susan G. Komen for the
Cure.

Attracting over 20,000 participants and spectators, the Race for the
Cure is the largest 5K race in New Jersey. More than a walk and
run, the Race brings together breast cancer survivors, loved ones,
supportive community members, and local organizations for one cause to
save lives. It is a day of hope, remembrance, and inspiration
for all.

To register, just go to http://events.komencsnj.org/ and click "Join a
Team". You will be able to choose our team name from the list -
Regency Womens group.

If you can't join me at the Race, you can still be a part of the Team
by registering for Sleep-In for the Cure. You may be sleeping at
home, but you will be with us in spirit! You can also make a
donation to my efforts by going to my personal Race for the Cure page.

http://events.komencsnj.org/site/TR?px=1023841&pg=personal&fr_id=1000

Your contribution will fund innovative outreach and awareness programs
for medically underserved communities in Central and South
Jersey and national breast cancer research. It is faster and
easier than ever to support this great cause - you can make a donation
online by simply clicking on the link at the bottom of this message.
If you would prefer, you can also send your tax-deductible
contribution to the address listed below. Whatever you can give will
help! I truly appreciate your support and will keep you posted
on my progress.

Thank you so much for your time and support in the fight against
breast cancer! I hope to see you at Six Flags on October 14th!

Sincerely,
Marcia Mankin

A THANK YOU FROM LITTLE PIDDLE

(For new residents, Little Piddle goes back to the early days of emailing when I wrote a whole story about my good friend Stu Finger. One day I will look through my archives so that new residents would know how I gave him this nickname. Many residents just call him the "PID" and we are all happy to see our "PID" doing much better. By the way, the "PID" calls me CAESAR because he does bow before me, but his granddaughter calls me "Mr. Caesar's Salad").

The "PIDS" message is as follows:
Once again, the residents at Regency stood by. Many thanks for your phone calls, good wishes and support with regard to my recent shoulder surgery. It’s a wonderful feeling to know that this community has so many caring people. Again, I thank you. Stu Finger

GARAGE DOOR SPRINGS PROBLEM

Someone had asked if there was a company that can take care of problems related to the garage door springs "springing". Here's the info from another resident who used:

GARAGE DOOR SERVICE; CHAMPION OVERHEAD DOOR
732 721 9222

Another resident used a young person who installed the springs. Here is his name and number
Danny---732-203-0043

My thanks to one of our Regency residents for providing me with some FANTASTIC BROOKLYN DOO WOP SONGS that many of us sang in front of DUBROW's. They will eventually be put on my BLOG. ThIs resident was in the group called DEE VINES and if you click on my blog link and scroll all the way down on my MUSIC JUKEBOX you will see a song called I BELIEVE. Our resident was either DEE or part of the VINES.

CAR SHIPPING COMPANIES

As mentioned in my last email a resident wanted to know who other residents use to ship cars down to Florida. One resident wrote me and they use:
AUTO LOG - LINDEN NJ or LARRICK TRANSPORTATION - MORRISTOWN NJ

Another resident uses:

Connecticut Auto Transport
877-754-3725

To Palm Beach Garden--$775
Larick's Towing & Transport
973-627-1959
$725

and still another resident wrote:

I used Auto Transport America to ship my car home from Fla. last May. Although they do door-to-door service, I did not use it that way. Their terminal is near the airport in West Palm - we drove the car there an hour before our flight - they took us to the airport, and the car was brought to their terminal in East Brunswick about 5 days later. This was no problem for us, since we have another car here. This cost us $625 - at least $50 cheaper than other companies we called. The best part is that for return customers, we paid only $575 to ship the car to Fla. next Oct.
This company was highly recommended to us, and they proved to be very reliable. Their number in E.B. is 561-684-1103.

Here's more:
Mascarelli Auto Transport- tel. 732 780 7766 - this one is located in Freehold

Barwick Auto Transport - tel.800 245 4285 - or 919 965 4412 - located in Pine Level, NC 27568"

Florida Auto Transporters. 866-684-1103. They delivered both of our cars within less than a week. They promised 7-10 days. We did depot to depot rather than door to doo and saved some money.

MY THANKS TO ALL THE REGENCY RESIDENTS WHO RESPONDED TO A RESIDENTS REQUEST FOR THIS INFORMATION. REGENCY, YOU ARE THE BEST!

HMMMM! THIS MIGHT BE A GREAT BUSINESS TO OPEN BUT WITH A LITTLE EXTRA. IF I TRANSPORT MY CAR I WILL PUT TWO RESIDENTS IN THE FRONT SEAT, 3 IN THE BACK AND 4 IN THE TRUNK. NATURALLY THOSE SITTING UP FRONT IN THE ORCHESTRA SEATS WILL PAY A LITTLE MORE AND THEY WILL BE TREATED LIKE THEY TREAT FIRST CLASS CUSTOMERS ON AN AIRPLANE.

A MESSAGE FROM THE DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB

The next meeting of the Digital Photography Club is Thursday, August 2, from 4PM to 6PM, in the Clubhouse Library. This will be the last meeting of the season and we will discuss opportunities for our next season.

We will also display and review those entries dealing with Composition, Lighting and Depth of Field.

The theme for our juried competition is "Backlighting." Please make sure you place your name on the back of your photograph so that it may be returned.

THE PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING OR SHOULD I SAY THE PROOF IS IN MY HOUSE

As I mentioned in my last email, the resident who needs to take driving lessons as he leaves his garage, just recently knocked off his side view mirror (last year it was his mailbox. Stand clear of his home as soon as you see his garage door open. Regency's Les Langer, AKA "MR SMASH", well here is the proof of what MR SMASH did to his rear view mirror:
http://www.comteche.com/free-image-hosting/viewimage.php?file=/free-image-hosting/images/5A042308.jpg
Fortunately Fran wanted it replaced but Les said, why replace the mirror when I'm going to SMASH it next week? For the first time ever, I agree with Les. Now if MR SMASH can SMASH a golf ball like he does his side view mirror, he might be close tp where my ball lands. However, after looking at the way the mirror was hit, it was sliced, Les's drive would be sliced into the woods, sand trap or water, where we usually find Les's ball.

A DRIVER IS NEEDED

CONTACT SANDI ELLIS
Dear Sandi,

hi How are you? I was wondering if you can possible help me. I am looking for a driver. Male, female, it does not matter. Do you know of anyone who is bored, retired, lonely, etc... who might want to commit a few hours a week to be my driver? I have a car, that I would provide gas for and I would pay them cash. Zac goes to school in Manalapan and needs to be picked up Monday Wednesday and Friday at 2. I do not need all three days, Mom can possible help with one day. I also would use the person for additional hours to take me to the mall, doctors appointments, or food shopping. Any suggestions would be very helpful! Thanks so much Caryn

THAT'S IT FOR NOW
