SOME OF US WILL REMEMBER THIS SONG - WHO KNOWS - WE MIGHT HAVE SPENT A WEEKEND TOGETHER (IF WE DID, THIS SONG WAS PLAYED ON THAT MEMORABLE WEEKEND)

THIS EMAIL THAT WAS SENT TO ME IS CERTAINLY ONE OF THE BEST, IF NOT THE BEST (IT'S ABOUT TWO RESIDENTS AND THEIR CHILDREN)

Twenty-four years ago, Shelly Schwartz and I met at work. She needed some help in her department and asked if anyone had teenagers that would be willing to work on Saturdays doing some clerical chores. My daughter, Tracy, was more than happy to earn a little money. The next day Shelly approached me and said,” she’s tall, thin, has red hair and is beautiful. I would love to introduce her to my son.”

Our children met and became dear friends. They both had aspirations of being veterinarians and both achieved their goals. Steven became an equine surgeon and Tracy a veterinary pathologist. He set up a practice in Saratoga and she secured a position with the Animal Medical Center in New York City.

Their friendship was a platonic one. Their devotion deep and binding. They were there for one another. Three years ago, Steven needed an escort for a formal affair. Tracy was available and they went together. She looked at him in his tuxedo and he looked at her in her gown; and they, perhaps, saw each other for the first time. They fell in love.

The story doesn’t end. Shelly and Marvin Schwartz and Bob and I bought homes here at the Regency unbeknownst to each other.

The children were married this past week end in Saratoga. I would have to say that this wedding day was a highlight we will never forget.

MOTHER OF SONS MEETING

We are scheduling another Mother of Sons ( not Daughters) club meeting on Dec. 12 at 7:30 in the Grill Room at the club house. This meeting will include an anonymous question /answer and book discussion. We suggest reading Walking On Egg Shells, Parenting Adult Children by Isay. New members are of course welcomed. Please bring a munchie. Call 561-2463 to RSVP. Flyers are at the club house.

OUTDOOR OUTLETS

I was talking to a few residents about one of my outdoor outlets not working and how I fixed the problem. These residents never knew about a reset button that would be found probably in your garage, on one of the outlets in your garage. The reset button is similar to the reset button near your sinks in the bathroom. So if your outside outlet doesn't work make sure the reset button is pushed in (the one in the garage). Like the other residents, you would probably say, "what button". Just look around and hopefully you will find an outlet with this button in the middle. I say hopefully because I think one resident told me that he doesn't have this button - it was probably never installed but by code, it your outside outlets, like the outlets near your sinks, should have a reset button.

A NOTE OF THANKS FROM THE ROTHENBERG FAMILY

On behalf of The Rothenberg Family, we would like to thank all of Regency for the outpouring of support following the death of our father and husband, Gerald Rothenberg. Your shiva visits, phone calls, cards, donations to charity, and food for our Shiva table represented the genuine love, concern and friendship that we have for each other in this community. We want you to know how much that helps to console us as we mourn Jerry's passing.

2008 MAYOR'S CUP EVENTS

If you are new to Regency you are probably wondering what this is all about. Monroe Township's Mayor for many years has provided residents who live in the various adult communities with a program filled with various sports where one community plays against other communities and the winner then can brag that they won the Mayor's Cup.

The sports include:

BOWLING
WOMEN'S TENNIS
WOMEN'S GOLF
MEN'S TENNIS
MEN'S GOLF
BASKETBALL
TABLE TENNIS (PING PONG)
DUPLICATE BRIDGE
BOCCE
SHUFFLEBOARD

If you are looking to get involved with any of these sports I will have the names of the residents that you should contact and it will be sent out in a future email. Please note: If you are responsible for any of the above Mayor's Cup sport events, please let me know. I have some idea of who is responsible but I want to make sure there were no changes).

Besides the Mayor's Cup Regency and the other adult communites participate in what is called the Condo Olympics. For the most part these Olympics are exactly the same events but it takes place at a different time. Again, if you are interested in participating contact the appropriate individual.

Naturally we want as many residents "rooting" for our team at these events. So mark your calendars for the upcoming 2008 Mayor's Cup Events. Here is next year's schedule of events with the date, event, place and time
