REGENCY SHUFFLEBOARD MAYOR'S CUP TEAM (OUR MOTTO - "WAIT UNTIL NEXT YEAR")

Ask our coach, Alan Maltzman, a simple question - "did we have fun?" His answer would be "YES, but next year he will have the team practice 8 hours a day, 7 days a week, so that we can bring the Mayor's Cup Trophy to Regency."

The Mayor was there to meet and greet everyone and to open up the tournament to all the players from the various adult communities. Check out the following link for the pictures of the Regency team and the Mayor. Some great portraits of our team in sepia color and you will also see a puck in a 10 box which, the Emailer, on his last shot hit the big "10" to win the game for the team of Maltzman and Post. Oh, big deal so I bragged again! Win or lose we rooted everyone on and it was a total pleasure playing with all these guys.

Our thanks to Al Maltzman for being our coach and we know Al will be back next year since his goal is to take the GOLD in the Senior Olympics and to win the Mayor's Cup. Once he does this, then Al can decide if he wants to retire or have his current contract re-negotiated at twice what he's being paid now!!! (Don't tell Al that two times zero is still zero!!!)

PURCHASING GROUP, CLUB - WHATEVER IT WILL BE CALLED

We are still working on what we should call ourselves since this group, club, etc., will not be affiliated with our HOA and/or Toll Brothers. We had a meeting yesterday and a separate email will be sent out summarizing what was discussed and how this group will hopefully save us all some money.

THE FINAL SOLUTION TO THE CASABLANCA FAN PROBLEM

As you know I first brought up to you the problem with the Casablanca Fans last month. I am sorry if I forgot to inform you of the solution. We have 9 fans in our home. 4 Casablanca of which 3 have the inelli-touch wall switch. All 4 Casablanca have been running 24/7 for the last 5 1/2 years without any problems. This summer apparently there was an electrical spike of some sort. (My garage door key pad also need attention due to the spike) This spike caused the three intelli-toch operated fans to shut down and not reset when you turn them off and then on by the circuit breaker as initially instructed by Casablanca customer service. That usually is the key to solving the problem. Not whether or not Casablanca would stand behind the product. Everyone I spoke to said that the company would replace the parts if needed, but it depended on who you spoke with as to the final cure. After the first attempt I call a person at Fan World who told me after first trying the circuit breaker solution then the second solution is to leave the power on and other switches off and then wait 48 hours. She swore that in her experience that it could take 48 hours for the internal switch to reset and not to worry if that didn't work she was sure that Casablanca would replace the damaged part. Being skeptical I called Casablanca a second time and sure enough the customer service agent told me the exact same thing and was surprised that the first agent hadn't told me the second step. Anyhow I waited 24 hours with 1 fan nothing happened, 36 hours with the second fan and nothing happened and sure enough tried the third fan after 48 hours and it started right as did the other 2 fans soon after.

Ron, just let your readers know that a little patience (48 hours) might save them a service call from an electrician.

I received a telephone call last evening from an individual identifying
himself as an AT&T Service Technician (could also be Telus). who was conducting a test on the telephone lines. He stated that to complete the test I should touch nine(9), zero(0), the pound sign (#), and then hang up. Luckily, I was suspicious and refused.

Upon contacting the telephone company, I was informed that by pushing 90#, you give the requesting individual full access to your telephone line, which enables them to place long distance calls billed to your home phone number.

Remember, do not dial 90# for anyone
