SHUT OFF YOUR WATER BIBS WHEN NOT IN USE

Last week Allan Ellis was leaving my home when he heard a noise coming from the side of my home. He thought it was a sprinkler line that sprung a leak. It turned out to be my watering hose that was attached to the water bib on the side of my home, that sprung a leak. Fortunately, the flood was only on the outside of my home.

A Regency resident wrote me an email saying that someone's water bib inside the garage was left open and the hose sprung a leak while the residents were away. Needless to say, they came back to a mess.

So, a word of caution. Shut off your outside and inside water bibs when not in use!! I will remind everyone about shutting off the water to these bibs when the temperature is at freezing. We definitely don't want to reach the freezing point.

CONGRATULATIONS TO MARK AND REVA CHASIN

A NOTE ABOUT WALKING YOUR DOG

Here is a message from one of our residents:

1. No dog should walk without a leash anywhere
2. The golf course is for golfers not for a dog's potty
3. No matter where a dog goes, the rule for the owner is to pick up!

Regency Tennis Club's Hy Levy Championships off to great start !

The first annual club tennis championships, named in honor of Hy Levy, have started with several exciting matches already played.

In a nail-biter, Irene Tramonatano and Arlene Eisenberg outlasted Sara Levy and Rose Lavon. The teams split the first two sets, then played a 7 point tie-breaker with Irene and Arlene getting the final two points. These two teams will receive first and second place trophies at the Sept. 30 tennis Dinner Dance.

On the men's side, Bob Cheret and Morris Adler defeated Barry Shandler and Charlie Lerman in a hard fought match 1-6, 6-3, 6-4. Marvin Roth and Stan Wallersein then defeated Vladimir Zaltsman and Jerry Stoller 6-3, 61.

There are several matches scheduled this week. Final matches should be finished by the end of next week.

Thanks,

Barry Shandler

REMEMBERING 9/11

On Tuesday, September 11, 2007, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States. Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this anniversary of our country's worst tragedy. We do this in honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.

In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds.
Action Plan: So, here's what we need you to do...

(1) Forward this email to everyone you know (at least 11 people). Please don't be the one to break this chain. Take a moment to think back to how you felt on 9/11 and let those sentiments guide you.

(2) Fly an American flag of any size on 9/11.

Honestly, Americans should fly the flag year-round, but if you don't, then at least make it a priority on this day.

Thank you for your participation.

THAT'S IT FOR NOW
RON
