A MESSAGE FROM TWO RESIDENTS WHO CALLED MAURICE CHANDLER

I just got off the phone with a resident who spoke with Maurice Chandler. He was extremely nice. He stated that since she currently is coming off a $33 promotion, they do not offer one promotion after another or two promotions in a row. You have to be off of the first promotion for 6-7 months before the second promotion can be offered.

Needless to say, some of you came off the $33 and got the $24.99 price. Was this an error? Might be, but just confirm your deal, which he said he would honor, provided you were told that you will be paying $24.99. In reality, you should be paying $43 (that's the new price once you come off the $33 promotion).

Like I told Maurice and I gave him names, this was not what we were told and what was actually done by Comcast. He will eventually see that there are MANY residents who were told that even though they had a $33 promotion, they were going to get the $24.99 deal.

Anyone switching, like me, from DSL to blast 16, there should be no problem in getting the Blast 16 for one year for $24.99. Frankly, after one year, if they don't want to offer a second promotion, back I go to DSL, which isn't difficult for me to do. The way this world works, Verizon would probably give me a deal for DSL after my contract expires in 1 year, that would be better than COMCAST. In fact, in my estimation, in one year FIOS from Verizon will hopefully be here and Comcast will be struggling to keep people on even at $24.99. FIOS will probably cost more but the speeds are unquestionably faster.

Good News - just got off the phone with a resident who was on the $33/month Comcast internet and he called Maurice and Maurice did honor the $24.99 price. So it looks like those of you who got the price (whether correctly or not) will get BLAST 16 for one year at the promotional rate. Just make sure you confirm it with Maurice.

This hopefully will end the saga of BLAST 16. To those who will now be paying $43, my suggestion, wait a few months and call to see what promotions are available. Who knows, you might get a rep that gives you the promotion before the 6 or 7 months. It's like credit cards and interest rates, you have to call periodically to get the "best deal".

BUMPKEY

What's this you might ask? I have to be living in a sheltered world since I never heard of this before. Go to YOUTUBE.COM and search for bumpkey. This is unbelievable. Here we think that our locks on our homes are safe and secure. Wrong! BUMPKEY will let you into your home very easily. Even a 12 year old can do it.

The answer is YES. They do make BUMPKEY proof locks. But the crooks are probably working on BUMPKEY VERSION 2. My solution - when your door opens, hook it up to two big loudspeakers that play a tape with barking dogs on it.

UPCOMING EVENTS

So you still work and don't get to the clubhouse to look at the flyers. You don't check the Regency TV channel. You don't check the website. But you do get my emails and look at my blog. Well, now you will see most of the flyers, applications forms and things to do which are found in the clubhouse.

Here's a new service I will be adding. I have a folder at the Clubhouse that is used for new residents who wish to be added to my email list. If you and/or your club makes up a flyer, either send it to me or put a copy of it in my folder. I will then scan and upload so that others can learn what is happening here at Regency. I will then send it out like you see below. All you have to do is click on the link below the title to take a look at the information. I will then add it to the appropriate section on my blog.

MEN'S GOLF AT THE MEADOWS - SUB LIST BEING PREPARED

This year we have 55 men playing as regulars at the Meadow's on Wednesday. If you are interested in playing as a sub, please send me a note. I am making up an email list that Regulars can use when some Regulars need to be off. The player needing a sub will just send out one email to all the subs on the list and the first person who contacts the Regular will take his place. Let me know if you are interested.

SPEEDERS BEWARE!

Several emails that I have written have indicated that residents, guests of residents, Toll contractors and various companies have been speeding (and I mean speeding) down Country Club leading to the 613 Exit. Residents who live in that area have complained to the Monroe Police. The Monroe police have been contacted and today (Monday) they have installed a speed sign indicating that the speed limit is 25 MPH.

I would suggest that each resident should observe the speed limits when driving within Regency. Let your family, guests and companies that come to your home know that they can be ticketed if they are speeding. Some might say that the streets of Regency are private streets and the police can't issue you a ticket. The answer is they can issue you a ticket. I would also let you know that even though you might not see a police car, this doesn't mean that you can speed. There are certain ways of monitoring your speed and capturing your license plate number even when a police car isn't present. Trust the Emailer in saying that this can be done and my suggestion - SLOW DOWN.

RESPONDING TO EMAILS

As you probably can imagine, the last 2-3 weeks certainly has been "hectic" for the Emailer. I had to receive a few hundred emails - yes that's a few hundred emails, from just Regency residents. I think I have answered everyone's questions and/or concerns. However, as you know besides Regency I receive hundreds of addtional emails (per day). I answer EVERYONE! The reason I am writing this is if you sent me an email and I didn't respond even with a simple THANKS. So if you didn't receive some response from me it only means that I might have inadvertently deleted your email. Just send it to me again and make sure you put REGENCY on the subject line. Thanks

THAT'S IT FOR NOW (Believe me I think I have written enough for one day)
