That's the date for The MS Walk in Belmar. As you may recall many Regency Residents walked under Team Bright Future on the boardwalk. Thanks to your generous contributions our first year was very successful. More information will be provided but if you have any questions call Shelly or Howard Wichansky. Mark the date on your calendar and make this year's effort bigger than ever.

SEEMS LIKE OUR NEW ALARM COMPANY (ALARM RELAY) IS ON THE BALL

As I mentioned in some of my previous emails, the Resident Purchasing Group approved Alarm Relay as the company that the group recommended for monitoring our homes. I just received the following email from a resident who just signed up with Alarm Relay.

"I just reeived a call from the house alarm company - Alarm Relay - I took on based on the reccomendation of your Regency Procurement Committee. I think I told you a while ago that working with them to set up the system was a pleasure. Now they just called to tell me there was a low battery in my glass break alarm - no forced entry - just a low battery alert. They are great! Thanks for the reccomendation."

Remember, the only way we will know if the company is on the ball is if you have any comments to make (good or bad). So let us know.

It is wonderful living in a community which supported us during a difficult time.

ROLLING PICTURES ON MY BLOG

Thanks for your nice comments regarding the pictures found on my blog. I have received a few pictures from residents and they will be added. I will group these pictures and add them once I have a few more. It cannot be done one at a time since it is a time consuming job uploading pictures. My hope is that every resident living at Regency will have their picture on the blog. If you don't see yours, send me a picture and it will be added.

A MESSAGE FROM LEN LEVENE - FIRE COMMISSIONER DISTRICT 3

February 16 Fire District 3 Election Public Questions

The ballot on the February 16 Fire District 3 Election contains 2 Public Questions.

The first Public Question will be the approval of Fire District 3’s 2008 budget. Fire District 3’s 2008 budget has been carefully assembled by Fire District 3’s Board of Fire Commissioners and contains only those funds necessary to provide for the same excellent level of fire and emergency protection in 2008 heretofore experienced by Fire District 3’s residents and preparations to continue that level of fire and emergency protection in future years.

This first Public Question reads as follows: “Should the budget for calendar year 2008 in the amount of $ 4,787,882, of which $3,822,658 is to be raised by taxation be approved?”

The second Public Question will be the approval of the year 2009 procurement of a new fire engine to replace Fire District 3’s oldest fire engine which was initially procured in 1986. By early 2010 when the new fire engine is delivered this 1986 fire engine will be 24 years old and will have reached the end of its viable lifetime. This acquisition of a new fire engine is critical to the continuance of Fire District 3’s excellent level of fire and emergency protection provided to Fire District 3’s residents.

This second Public Question reads as follows: “Shall Monroe Fire District # 3 be permitted in Fiscal Year 2009 to purchase a new fire engine to replace its 1986 fire engine for an amount not to exceed $600,000, $250,000 of which shall come from its current Capital Acquisition Reserve Account, to meet the needs of the residents of Monroe Township Fire District 3?”

As stated in the Public Question the fire engine procurement will occur in 2009 and $250,000 already present in the Fire District’s Capital Acquisition Reserve Account will be used as the initial payment for the new fire engine. Careful financial management by the Board of Fire Commissioners has maintained the Capitol Acquisition and Facilities Improvement Reserve Accounts necessary for the Fire District to continue the excellent level of fire and emergency protection experienced by Fire District 3’s residents.

Fire District 3’s Board of Fire Commissioners recommends approval of both Public Questions.
EMAILER'S NOTE: THERE SEEMS TO BE SOME CONFUSION AS TO WHAT THE FIRE COMPANY WAS ASKING FOR. SOME PEOPLE FEEL THAT THE FIRE TRUCK IS THE WATER TRUCK - IT ISN'T. THIS FIRE TRUCK WILL REPLACE THE VERY OLD FIRE ENGINE. THE WATER TRUCK WAS ORDERED BASED UPON A GRANT FROM FEMA OF $211,000.
WITH THE RESERVE FUND HAVING $250,00 A MAXIMUM OF $350,000 IS NEEDED FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE 1986 FIRE TRUCK.

MEN'S GOLF LEAGUE AT REGENCY (NOT THE MEADOWS)

Please note that when you hand in your checks please include your email address on it.

Thanks

THAT'S IT FOR NOW
