ADVANCED BROADBAND IS GONE
EFFECTIVE MARCH 30TH

ONE MARCH 21ST KIEVE WAS NOTIFIED BY ADVANCED BROADBAND THAT THEY WILL NOT BE RUNNING A PARALLEL INTERNET CONNECTION UNTIL RESIDENTS ARE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET EITHER THROUGH DSL OR COMCAST. NEEDLESS TO SAY, KIEVE WAS VERY ANNOYED WITH AB'S DECISION. I WONDER IF THE TOLL CORPORATION WAS ANNOYED AS MUCH AS WE ARE? PROBABLY NOT, SINCE THEY WERE ABLE TO SELL AB AND MAKE LOTS OF MONEY. BIG DEAL, SO REGENCY RESIDENTS WOULD BE WITHOUT THE INTERNET AND EMAIL! OF COURSE I'M BEING FACITIOUS! IF THEY TRULY CARED, THEN THEY WOULD HAVE MADE SURE THAT REGENCY RESIDENTS WEREN'T LEFT OUT IN THE "COLD".

WHAT THIS MEANS IS THAT YOU SHOULD EITHER HAVE VERIZON'S DSL IN PLACE OR COMCAST. IF NOT, YOU ARE WITHOUT THE INTERNET/EMAIL. KEEP IN MIND THAT VERIZON IS OFFERING FREE DIALUP BUT I GUESS YOU MUST HAVE A MODEM TO CONNECT VIA DIALUP.

SO, WITH REGARD TO MY EMAIL ADDRESSES, EFFECTIVE MARCH 30TH, ALL RESIDENTS WHO USE AB FOR EMAILS WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO RECEIVE THEM. IF YOU GO TO DIAL UP, BE SURE TO OBTAIN A NEW EMAIL ADDRESS AND SEND IT TO ME. IF, YOU CAN GET TO THE INTERNET USING A FRIEND'S COMPUTER, GO TO MY BLOG TO READ ALL THE EMAILS.

ANY BIRDERS OUT THERE?

If you're interested:

For the past week there have been feeding groups of Hooded Mergansers and Ring-Necked Ducks on the pond surrounding the third green here at Regency.

(Thank you Marty Feldman for spotting these birds. Imagine, they are playing the third hole and they haven't even paid for this year's golf! Bernie Schwartz - get the camera out and take a few pictures. Remember, one bird is wearing a hood and the other has a ring around it's neck.)

For those bird lovers here is what was found at Regency:

VERIZON DSL INFORMATION

I received a call from Martin Ingenbrandt, who is working with Majorie Lord at Verizon, regarding Regency. He indicated that Verizon will provide "complimentary dialup" until DSL is ready. They are making sure that their office that houses the DSL for Regency has the capacity and every so often they check their lines. Everyone wanting DSL will eventually have it but they will increase capacity when required.

Martin and Marjorie Lord can be contacted at 609-890-9328. Some of you had mentioned that you called but never received the DSL equipment. They know about it and they promise that you will receive it. He explained why this happened but suffice it to say, it will be sent out soon.

My call into this number was in reference to being placed on their "White List". I do not want to repeat the same problems with Verizon as I had with AB. Their technical support will be contacting me so that I would be given the okay to send out hundreds of emails to those of you who will have a Verizon email address vs. an AB address. Please keep in mind that ALL of you who have an AB address MUST change over to another address once AB is gone. Please don't wait! If you are taking the Comcast Internet package, make sure you give me your new email address.

THANK YOU SEYMOUR HYDEN

We certainly have crusaders living here at Regency. Allen (Mr. LightPOST), Ellis, has crusader to get the street lights working along 613 and even at the 522 intersection in Englishtown. Now Regency has another Crusager, Seymour Hyden. Seymour has worked on getting the Meadows to have a shorter course for seniors. So below (click on link) is a letter from the MCIA informing Seymour that Gold tees will be at the Meadows as he requested.

This will help those golfers who don't drive the ball as far as me (like Les Langer). However, it makes no difference if Les hits from the Blue, White, Red or Gold. If he doesn't like the shot he just kicks his ball or throws his ball to wherever he wants it (usually 50 yards or more down the course near where my ball lands). He likes to say he "out hits" Ron and being the nice guy I am, I tell him "great shot" as I mutter "what a cheater!"

Seymour, our Treasurer for Golf at the Meadows, has provided us with a Financial report. It will be found on my BLOG.

FOUR (4) MEN NEEDED FOR BOWLING LEAGUE
STEVE GLEWARG SENT ME THE FOLLOWING EMAIL

I have volunteered (to Herb Cohen) to attempt to recruit 4 more bowlers for the men's league that will commence on April 5th for 12 weeks. We need these 4 (first come, first served) to even out the teams so that a few aren't left out. We will need a commitment no later than this Thurs. evening with a call to either myself (605-9774) or Herb (656-3033). Most guys (such as myself - this will be my first season in the league) have not bowled before this for 20 or 30 years, so nobody should feel like they won't be good enough. Having bowled these last few weeks, though, I can tell you it's like riding a bike, even if you were a bad rider before. It's a lot of fun and mostly social. Practice takes place the next 2 Thursday nites at 7pm( we bowl in Aberdeen Rte 34). So, let's see if the EMAILER can do some recruiting for us... it'll make some guys happy. Thanks...
Steve Gelwarg
(NOTE: IF 4 GUYS VOLUNTEER TO BOWL EACH OF THE FOUR WILL RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING:
1. A DOUGHNUT HOLE
2. AN AUTOGRAPH PICTURE OF NORM GOLDBERG - OUR FIRST PRESIDENT - MEN'S BOWLING.
3. A MONTH'S WORTH OF LOUSY EMAILS
4. 10 POUNDS OF SAND FROM MY DRIVEWAY
(SEE STEVE, THIS IS HOW YOU RECRUIT!)
