BIRTHDAY'S AND ANNIVERSARY'S

Well it's been awhile since I thought of something else to do to keep residents informed about things. Our Regency Reporter does a great job in letting everyone know whose birthday is coming up in a month or two.

I don't know if your personal calendar looks like mine but there isn't room in the boxes to write anything because it is filled with birthday and anniversary notes. So, to make room on our personal calendars I decided to make up a sheet and to include all of our birthday's and anniversary's.

So, just like the High School list, birthday's and anniversary's will be listed also on my BLOG. Please just give the MONTH and DAY you were born and for Anniversary's, MONTH, DAY and YEAR.

So please send me this information.

BETTER SAFE THEN SORRY
Cell Phone Info.

The following information was sent to me by a resident. Make sure you aren't a victim of this new, technology age, crime.

This lady has changed her habit of how she lists her names on her mobile phone after her handbag was stolen. Her handbag which contained her mobile, credit card, purse etc.... was stolen. 20 minutes later when she called her hubby, from a pay phone telling him what had happened, hubby says "I've just received your text asking about our pin number and I've replied a little while ago." When they rushed down to the bank, the bank staff told them all the Money was already withdrawn. The pickpocket had actually used the stolen phone to text "hubby" in the contact list and got hold of the pin number. Within 20 minutes he had withdrawn all the money from the bank account.

Moral of the lesson: Do not disclose the relationship between you and The people in your contact list. Avoid using names like Home, Honey, Hubby, sweetheart, Dad, Mom etc.......

And very importantly, when sensitive info is being asked thru texts, ALWAYS CONFIRM by CALLING BACK, NOT BY TEXTING!

We are in possession of an extra glass recycling barrel...if anyone near Kingsmill is missing one, please contact me. Also, our newspaper recycling bin got inadvertently picked up by someone during a very windy day. If anyone found it, please contact me at 732 605-9774. Thanks...

(Steve, I saw a newspaper recycling bin being sold on EBAY the other day. As they say in YIDDISH, Syanora Recycling Bin!)

We have a computer desk that we are offering to give to anyone who may have a need for it. It is on wheels, and is of a maple wood color. It is 33in. in height and has a depth of 29 in. If anyone is interested , they can call:

Joan & Arnie Bass at 732-521-3840.

DON'T BE CHARGED FOR 411 CALLS - HOME OR CELL PHONES

Cell phone companies are charging us $1.00 to $1.75 or more for 411 information calls when they don't have to. Most of us do not carry a telephone directory in our vehicle, which makes this situation even more of a problem. When you need to use the 411 information option, simply dial 1(800) FREE 411, or 1 (800) 373-3411; without incurring any charge at all. This works on your home telephone as well!

2007 GOLF SEASON AT THE MEADOWS

It's hard to believe some of us are still playing golf. Our golf season for 2007 will begin on the first Wednesday in April. We will have 11 foursomes (44 guys) and plenty of subs. I will probably be signing the contract for the Meadows in the next few weeks. IF YOU ARE A REGULAR, BUT YOU CAN'T BEGIN THE SEASON ON THE FIRST WEEK OF APRIL, YOU MUST LET ME KNOW (EVEN THOUGH YOU MIGHT HAVE TOLD ME ALREADY). IF YOU ARE AWAY, IT'S NO PROBLEM, BUT YOU MUST LET ME KNOW WHEN I SHOULD START SCHEDULING YOU IN.

Below is the list of Regulars and Subs for the 2007 Season. Just like last year the schedule will be made in 3 week increments and if you know you can't make it on a certain week, send me a note. If I am not told, you will be scheduled and you will be responsible for finding a sub to replace you. Again, subs will call the CAPTAIN of the foursome that is in need of a player.

Seymour Hyden will continue to be the Treasurer (thanks Seymour for volunteering). Before the season begins, please give Seymour $25 which will be used for tournaments and penalties in case no sub is found to take your place.

Make sure you go to the Meadows prior to the season beginning to take out a card for the new season. Please don't wait until the first day you are playing as this could hold up getting foursomes out to play.

There are many new players this year some of whom I am not sure about their level of golf. Naturally, we will try to have players with the same level playing together. Those players with low handicaps will probably go out earlier in order for us to move the game along. However, having a low handicap doesn't necessarily mean you move the game along. If you spend 10 minutes looking for a golf ball or go "fishing" for balls, or play 2 balls plus mulligans, this would have to be taken into account when the schedule is made. Last year I did the schedule by myself. This year, I have a committee - Jerry Scott, Marty Kornfeld, Jerry Stollar and I will be working on the schedules and rules together.

The schedule will be sent to each of you via email, at least 3 weeks in advance. You will also be able to view the schedule on my BLOG. Just like last year I intend to send all players, Regulars and Subs, a list that would include your email addresses so that you can email one another if there are any problems. On my BLOG, the list of players with telephone numbers and email addresses, will be assigned a password so that only the Regulars and Subs will be able to access the list. However, if any player wishes NOT to have his email address known, please let me know within two weeks.

If a Regular should drop out, a Sub can elect to be a Regular (first come). If no Sub elects to be a Regular then I will put a note out to the community that I would be looking for a Regular.

Again, please let me know when you intend to start playing. If I don't hear from you then I will assume you will be ready to play on the first Wednesday of April.
Thanks
Ron
JUST CLICK ON THIS LINK TO SEE THE REGULARS AND SUBS WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESSES. I WILL BE SENDING YOU THE PASSWORD TO OPEN THIS FILE WITHIN THE NEXT WEEK OR TWO. IN THE MEANTIME HERE IS THE LIST WITHOUT THE EMAIL ADDRESSES.
