A THANK YOU FROM THE GREENBERG FAMILY

We all very much appreciate all of the wonderful tributes and thoughts that you've all had for Aaron.

Many of you have asked if he had a favorite charity that you can make a donation to in his memory. Our family knows that he would want any contributions to go the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center with designation to the Liver Cancer Therapy Fund-Fund # 206776.

Thank you again for your thoughts.

AN INCIDENT AT REGENCY

A FEW WEEKS AGO I WROTE ABOUT SOMEONE REPORTING TO THE HOA THAT MY SPRINKLERS WERE ON AND THAT IT WAS PROBABLY TURNED ON MANUALLY. AS I HAD MENTIONED, MY BOX IS LOCKED AND I CAN'T, EVEN IF I WANTED TOO, TURN ON MY SPRINKLERS. THE ONLY THING I DO IS WATER MY NEW SHRUBS.

A RESIDENT HAS INDICATED THAT ON SATURDAY NIGHT (ABOUT 11:30 PM) TWO MEN WERE TAKING PICTURES OF SOMEONE'S HOME WHOSE SPRINKLERS WERE ON. IT'S BAD ENOUGH WHEN SOMEONE FALSELY ACCUSES SOMEONE ELSE OF TURNING ON SPRINKLERS MANUALLY BUT WHEN WE TAKE PICTURES AT 11:30 PM OF SOMEONE'S HOME, THAT'S GOING TOO FAR. IMAGINE IF THE WIFE WAS HOME, THE HUSBAND WAS OUT AND THE WIFE SAW THIS HAPPEN. SHE WOULD PROBABLY BE SCARED TO DEATH.

THE TWO MEN WERE IDENTIFIED BY A CAR PASSING BY THEM WHEN THIS INCIDENT TOOK PLACE. I THINK AN APOLOGY TO THE HOMEOWNER IS DEFINITELY IN ORDER. INCIDENTS OF THIS TYPE IS NOT WHAT REGENCY IS ALL ABOUT AND HOPEFULLY OCCURENCES LIKE THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN.

BRONX CLUB
By Ted Shuster

On Sunday June 3, 2007 at 10.00 am in the social hall over 60 regency residents met for an organizational meeting for the beginning of a vibrant, enthusiastic and pro-active club that was being formed .The residents, although diverse in many aspects, had one thing in common they all came from “THE BRONX”

The purpose of this club is to provide a social and educational approach to the membership. Twenty residents agreed to meet to form an executive committee and to set up chairmanships for various committee We will make our programs available in the next few weeks and hope that other Bronx residents who could not attend this first meeting will join us and help make this club prosper.

BLACK SWIMMER'S WATCH FOUND

A black swimmer's watch was found in the men's locker room on Sunday, and turned in to the front desk.
(EMAILER'S NOTE: I BET A MAN LEFT IT SINCE IT WAS FOUND IN THE MEN'S LOCKER ROOM - OR, HAS THE MEN'S LOCKER ROOM BEEN INVADED BY LADIES?)

JAPANESE BEETLE TRAPS

This is usually the time that Regency gets besieged with Japanese Beetles. I haven't seen any but remember, DO NOT use those traps (the ones with the bag that you put on your lawns). They can attract these beetles from miles away. If the problem gets real bad, some years the HOA sprays for them and in other years I have used my landscaper to spray. This spray doesn't attract the beetles, it just kills them.

REGENCY FISHING CLUB

On Saturday June 16, The Regency Fishing Club held another successful fishing trip for the 2007 season, running a charter trip aboard the Eagle, sailing out of Atlantic Highlands, NJ. We left the dock at 6:30 am with 21 aboard for a day of fishing for striped bass and fluke. The weather was sunny and the water was calm. In the morning we started to fish the clam grounds, which are about 2 miles south of Sandy Hook. We started to catch bass within minutes after the anchor was set. Most fish were shorts, less then 28” but there was plenty of action, Regency resident Stan Wallerstein won the pool with a 32” striped bass.
At 11:00 the mates changed everyone’s rigs and we moved into Sandy Hook Channel to start our fishing for Fluke. The tide had changed and we had problems holding bottom. The Captain then moved in around the hook and we started a good drift. Almost immediately we started to catch keeper fluke, over 17”. The pool was won by Regency resident Jeff Kivet with a 3 pound fluke. The count at the end of the day was 6 keeper bass with at least another 25 shorts returned to the ocean to grow for later in the season, and over 25 keeper with another 20 shorts to be caught another day.

All aboard had a great time and are reserving spots on our up coming trips, so book early before trips are sold out as this trip was. We returned to the dock at 2:30 with a bunch of very tired and very happy fisherman.
As president of the Fishing Club I know I speak for all the board members. Nothing gives us more pleasure then to see someone catch his or her first fish.

On June 16 we sailed on the party boat Dauntless sailing out of Point Pleasant, N.J. there were 9 members aboard for a day of bottom fishing for sea Bass, Ling, and blackfish. We started on the Klondike, which is 5 miles southeast of the Manasquan inlet. We anchored and started catching ling and small sea bass. After a few hours of fishing in various spots the Captain decided to move to the off shore wrecks which lay 18 miles east, he felt we had a better chance of catching bigger fish. Again many fish were caught with a lot of throw backs. We returned to the dock at 4:00 and we all had ling and seabass to bring home for dinners.

Please join us on our upcoming trips no experience is needed.

(EMAILER'S NOTE: STAN'S 32" WINNING BASS WAS ONLY 15" BUT HE BROUGHT WITH HIM AN AIR PUMP AND HE WAS PUMPING AWAY. MARK'S 60" BASS WAS DISQUALIFIED BECAUSE HE FORGOT TO TAKE THE TAG OFF OF THE FISH SAYING "FULTON FISH MARKET". I'M JUST JOKING - CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FISHERMAN - IT SEEMS LIKE LOT'S OF FUN)
