Who is this guy talking about?? Is this a paid political advertisement? Bernie, I said $10 but you left off many real nice adjectives so, how about $1.

We still need some music, so how many of you remember this song?:

TEXAS HOLD'EM TOURNAMENT

This Sunday was the day that all of our poker players rallied at the clubhouse to see who would be crowned the TEXAS HOLD'EM CHAMP OF 2007. Beyond a shadow of a doubt, our champ was MARVIN SCHWARTZ. This is the second straight year for Marvin winning this title.

The Emailer played at Marvin's preliminary table. It was reduced to just Marvin and I playing MANO E MANO. I had 3/4 of all the chips and I looked at Marvin who was almost in tears and everyone knows what a "softee" I am, so I let Marvin win. Actually Marv made two good moves on me and I backed out of two pots when I should have stayed in. He did outplay me and I congratulate him as this year's winner.

The results are as follows:

1st place - Marvin Schwartz (alias "the snitcher" since he is going to
tell everyone how I lost to him
2nd place - Ted Shuster (Brooklyn guy who ran to the Bronx)
3rd place - Izabella Zaltsman (who said women can't play poker?)
4th place - Steve (alias Gary) Gelwarg
5th place - George (alias little Georgy) Zimmerman

A FEW WORDS FROM OUR WINNER (MARV SCHWARTZ) AND OUR SECOND PLACE WINNER (TED SHUSTER)

Yes, Marv and Ted poked fun at the Brooklyn guys but when they left the clubhouse and started walking to their cars, a group of Brooklyn guys, made them regret what they said on the video. Naturally, their winnings went towards their hospital bills.

SNOWBIRDS

Well, it's about that time of year that our SNOWBIRDS, leave their Regency nest and fly to warmer climates. Yes, we will miss you but more importantly, those of us who still remain at Regency we will have some WILD party's in the homes vacated by the snowbirds. It's been a Regency tradition, but don't worry, we will clean up the mess. Of course you know I am joking (or am I?).

To all of you I send my very best wishes for good health and lots of fun while you are away. I had Greta sing the following song in your honor: (Sandi Ellis - please listen - imagine, this resident doesn't listen to any of my music!!!)

It is also time for me to remind you to close your outdoor water faucets. Also, for those who have fireplaces, a reminder that if your remote doesn't turn on your fireplace, first try replacing the batteries in the remote but ALSO change the batteries in the receiver unit that is located in a black box inside your fireplace, on the bottom.

SNOWBIRDS - COPY BLOG ADDRESS

If you are away during the winter and you don't have an email address, but you have access to a computer, remember to take along my BLOG ADDRESS, which will have all of my emails on it.

CORRECTION TO EMAIL SENT TO MEADOWS GOLFERS

In my mailing to Meadows Golfers I inadvertantly left off Mike Nikitas from the list of Regulars. Also, Art Siegel's telephone number was incorrect. My next mailing to the Meadows golfers will have these corrections. The total number of Regulars for the 2008 season is now 48. We have 13 tee times so 4 more regulars can be added. If interested, let me know.

ELAINE & BERNIE SCHWARTZ - GREAT PICTURES OF YOUR GRANDCHILDREN

As you know, our GRANDCHILDREN are soooooo precious and beautiful. I started a section on my BLOG so that we could view our friends and neighbors grandchildren. We have a few residents who sent me some pictures via an email and these pictures are now on my BLOG. So send me some of your pictures.

I just asked Regency's #1 Photographer, Bernie Schwartz, to send me pictures he had taken of his grandchildren. WOW! Thank goodness they look like Elaine!! Just take a look at these pictures - what a beauty!!!

DOES ANYONE HAVE THIS PROBLEM?

I have a problem and wonder if any other residents have it as well.
About 4 weeks ago I began finding small worms in my house - mostly in the
kitchen, but then in other rooms as well. After two weeks, I called in an
exterminator, who fogged my home, as well as treated the outside. Exactly
two weeks later I found another worm. The exterminator came back, treated
the inside of my house again, then inspected the outside. He saw worms crawling
on the cement base around the house, and determined that the lawn is infested
with them. He treated the outside again, but it rained right after he left,
so probably the treatment was washed off.

I reported this condition to Stephanie, but have yet to hear from her.
Incidentally, the exterminator could not identify the worm, but has submitted
it to a lab, and is awaiting a report.
